I am an active elder and I voted today!
by outofthebox intoday is a proud day for me.
i became part of my fellow citizens in this country by casting my vote.
it was a thrilling experience (more like a disney ride really, since the line wasn't that long).

as some of you know my ex-bethel elder brother told my sister a witness who was a victim of a stroke that in august she needed to move 8 hours away to her witness daughter who could care for her better .

Mr Flipper - I understand where you are coming from. A few years ago when I was living with my Grandma a simlar thing happened. The people across the street from my Grandma were slightly incapacitated. My Grandma would always take meals over, help with shopping etc even though her health was not that great. Not one member of the incapacitated people's family were to be seen until one of the incapacitated had died and the other was on deaths door. The incapacitated peoples family who are JW's then accused my Grandma of wanting something - WTF !!!!! . I later found out that the incapacitated people were quite well off even though their house did not reflect this by any means. My Grandma was quite annoyed to say the least - my Grandma is very old school - if someone needs help - then help them - no payment required. After that incident my fade began - I definately saw the new light.

Is it Feasible to File a Lawsuit against WBTS
by KW13 infor the damage that they've done to me as an individual, discouraged from taking school seriously, to forget the idea of college as it wouldnt and certainly never dream of working in this system, afterall the new order will be here by then.... the impact this religion has had on me has left me with some things that i will never get rid of, they are that deeply buried in me and i'm not saying i'm not coping or that i'm really unhappy but life in some areas is just damaged.
everything from me personally to my relationship with my mum.. so...am i being foolish or would i be doing the right thing?
i am not saying i want money, more recognition of what happened you know?.

I have been out for a long time but have only recently found this site. I was assimulated when I was two. I left when I was 16 due to family breakdown - my dad died in a car crash when I was 11 and basically the family fell apart after that. One thing that did stick in my mind was the give more attitude and if you want to see your dad again crap really rubbed me up the wrong way. I has taken a long time to silence the inner voice always asks if I should be doing something as the Almighty will be watching. I would like to thank the JW's for all the crap I copped at school and the humilating door to door crap - nothing more intimidating that going to the door on your own as a 7 year old.
This site has helped with some closure as I honestly thought that I, was not on my own, but a minority, that is certainly not the case - thanks to oompa, flipper WT Wizard etc never met any of you but always look forward to your posts.

by weeone ini am a sister that kind of "fell away" from the organization.
i felt that i wasn't accepted by my brothers and sisters (long, long story).
whatever i did i wasn't "perfect" enough.

Dont go to the elders NEVER EVER - but do tell his wife (via phone or letter) and let him deal with the fall out. I am going thru a simular thing myself - I know you want revenge, so get the info together and use your head. If you use a phone make sure it cant be traced ie public phone. Make sure you take a few photo copies of any thing he has written to you and then send his wife a copy. Carefull planning on your behalf will give you a favourable result. Just my opinion.

What is your strangest "supernatural" JW story?
by donny ini had just became a witness and a guy i worked with, who was also a jw, told me a story that actually made me laugh and i think it upset him a bit.
the storys were almost always in the third person.
it went as follows.. this brothers wife and him were sitting at the kingdom hall on the end seats of the row next to the back of the room.

In Australia we had a story very simular to the smurfs but involved cabbage patch dolls - and as kids we sucked it all up - what fools we were !!!!!!!!
Now the smurfs are making a come back - The elders will probably claim that Papa Smurf is a pedophile

by Gill ini was surprised to find that charles taze russell, of the russell family line (of course) was reportedly part of the setting up of the skull and bones society.. i have read many refutes that ct was a 33 degree mason but, let's leave that as a possibility along with his 13 bloodlines of the illuminati link and consider this scenario as a possible and worrying possible conspiracy theory.. fritz springmeier and some others (again all holding suspension of our disbelief in control here for a few moments, please), commented on the setting up of internement style camps around the united states and some pictures and sites are to be found on the net.. now, there are various 'christian groups' all anticipating the 'time of the end'.
the jehovah's witnesses, for example are expecting to be persecuted and then 'saved' by god.
they anticipate 'the end' at any time.

I was basically born into the JW's and when I finally left at the age of 18 I had that voice in my head Questioning everything I do. Will Jehovah be happy with you smoking that cigarette etc - I finally learnt to quieten that voice but it has taken a long time. And yes finally being normal with family and friends and doing holiday celebrations, birthdays etc
